Like the previous model, the VY was in production for 23 months (from September 2002 &#8211; August 2004). The series 2, released in August 2003. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VY Ute, no longer classed as a Commodore, would be available as a sidebody style ute and as a one tonner. The tail lights, positioned higher, the grille, larger and featured a honeycomb pattern to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4mTQA8x\">VT VX VY VZ Commodore Repair Manual<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VY would be the last of the 3.8L V6 Commodores which began in 1988 with the introduction of the VN. It would also be the last Commodore to use the ECOTEC engine which was first used in the VS Commodore. The supercharged version of the ECOTEC V6 engine would also remain on the options list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also carried over from the VX, would be the 5.7L V8 engine, also called the LS1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VY sold well. It remained on top of the bets selling cars list for the duration of its production run.
