The VE Commodore is the first car of a new generation of Holden Commodores. It is a new shape, new wheelbase and brings in a new engine. Despite being a modern car and having about a billion dollars and nearly a decade of research and development, it is not without its flaws
Windscreen washer bottle cracking
V6 engines known to leak oil
Battery dies quicker than usual due to inconsistent alternator output
Rim damage. The 18 inch wheels were not the greatest on unsealed and bumpy roads
Under bonnet fuel hoses can crack and falter
Leaking firewall, usually just leaks rain water but can still ruin carpet and may even cause rust long term rust.
Front suspension can be noisy, rear suspension can sag. Basically an upgraded suspension system would be well worth considering/ costing when buying one second hand.
Noise from the 6 speed manual gearbox has been reported to be common.
Wheel alignment issues, wheels need to be realigned more often than expected
Premature engine mount wear
Timing chain issues on V6 models
