Engines were generally solid as they had been around for 5 years already though not all were perfect. Transmissions were known to slip and new electronics did not last as long as one would hope.
Harmonic balancer failure

Loose gearbox rubber mount causing driveline vibrations
Crank angle sensor failure
Coil pack failure
Fading tail lamps
Body Control Module malfunctions. The VR was the first Commodore to use a BCM
Fuel pump seizures. Caused from driving too much with little or no fuel
Steering rack leaks and noises
Air conditioner compressor bearing failure, leading to excessive noise when air conditioning is in operation
Window regulator failure, results in poor winding
Master power window switch failure
Steering wheel padding removes itself from the metal frame underneath
Door seals fall off and or break
